When running the automatic install script the following error will appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code>Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'longview', disabling.<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fixing the Longview Repository<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After talking with support they recommend changing the automatically created <code>longview.repo<\/code>&nbsp;so that it points to the Fedora 21 repo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be done by modifying the <code>longview.repo<\/code> file, found in the <code>\/etc\/yum.repos.d\/<\/code> directory. They recommend changing the baseurl field to <code>https:\/\/yum-longview.linode.com\/fedora\/21\/noarch\/<\/code>. The full file would then be<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code brush: plain; notranslate\"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\n&#x5B;longview]\nname=Longview Repo\nbaseurl=https:\/\/yum-longview.linode.com\/fedora\/21\/noarch\/\nenabled=1\ngpgcheck=1\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installing and enabling&nbsp;Longview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the repository has been configured you are able to install it by running the following <code>dnf<\/code> command.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code brush: plain; notranslate\"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\n sudo dnf install linode-longview perl-LWP-Protocol-https\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Once installed, you can start it and configure it to run on boot.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code brush: plain; notranslate\"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\nsudo dnf systemctl enable longview\nsudo dnf systemctl start longview\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Now we have Longview running on our Fedora 28 system.
