Today I am showing the temperature drop over time while using the MakerHawk Raspberry Pi 4B Armor Case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

What is theMakerHawk Raspberry Pi 4B Armor Case<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I talked more about the MakerHawk Raspberry Pi 4B Armor Case on my previous blog post<\/a>. It is an aluminium case with two fans that are powered by the GPIO pins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also provides heat transfer pads to allow the primary microchips on the Raspberry Pi to conduct heat to the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat reduction after placing the case on<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Below is an image of the temperature of the CPU before and after placing the case on the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi was not turned off during this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking at the drop it very quickly cools down the temperature of the CPU before rising slightly. This is because the aluminium case will be a lower temperature initially and will be warmed up by the CPU. As it warms up it will be less able to reduce the heat in the CPU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually the temperature transfer rate stabilises and roughly fluctuates based on ambient temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall adding the case has around a 7 degree temperature drop (50 degrees down to 43).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat reduction after turning on the fans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Below is an image of the temperature of the CPU before and after turning on the fans on the Raspberry Pi case. Again the Raspberry Pi was not powered off during this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning on the fans shows an immediate drop in the temperature of the CPU. Here this is increasing the rate of transfer of heat away from the case, which in turn drops the CPU temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall turning on the fan has a 11 degree temperature drop (43 degrees down to 32).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After fitting the case and turning on the fans the temperature is significantly reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall from adding the case and turning on the fans the temperature drops by 28 degree temperature drop (50 degrees down to 32).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In review this case works very well to reduce the temperature as it brings it down significantly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
