{"id":34,"date":"2012-05-27T16:22:57","date_gmt":"2012-05-27T16:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chewett.co.uk\/?p=34"},"modified":"2012-05-27T16:22:57","modified_gmt":"2012-05-27T16:22:57","slug":"fixing-register_http_request_failed-error-on-wordpress-jetpack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chewett.co.uk\/blog\/34\/fixing-register_http_request_failed-error-on-wordpress-jetpack\/","title":{"rendered":"Fixing register_http_request_failed error on wordpress Jetpack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finally got around to fixing <a title=\"Wordpress Jetpack Plugin\" href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/jetpack\/\" target=\"_blank\">WordPress Jetpack plugin<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>This tool is a useful plugin that allows you to add a large amount of functionality that is turned on by default on wordpress.com accounts. This was something i was really interested in getting working because i wanted some more stats and other things.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly when i installed the plugin on my host it gave errors when connecting my wordpress.com account saying &#8220;register_http_request_failed&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not to be deterred, after much i found my was to install the <a title=\"Core-Control Plugin\" href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/core-control\/\" target=\"_blank\">Core-Control<\/a>\u00a0plugin. Once this was installed i went to Tools, Core-Control and activated &#8220;HTTP Access Module&#8221;. Once this was active it gave me an &#8220;External HTTP Access&#8221; tab. After turning off cURL by pressing &#8220;Disable Transport Method&#8221; the Jetpack plugin connected to WordPress successfully.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully this will resolve some people&#8217;s problems with this, if they were getting any issues, if anyone else has other issues, feel free to leave a comment!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finally got around to fixing WordPress Jetpack plugin!
