Show the full URL in the Opera Touch address bar

This post describes how you can configure Opera Touch to show the full URL in the address bar.

Showing the full URL in the address bar for Opera Touch

By default Opera Touch, the latest opera browser, simplifies the URL in the address bar. This is done by removing the query string (the bit after the ?) and sometimes the protocol.

For web developers like myself it is important to know the precise URL you are visiting. Opera allows you to stop this simplification process by going into the settings.

Opening settings can be achieved by pressing the Opera logo, then settings. Or by using the shortcut Alt-P.

Once in the settings menu you will need to:

  1. Select the “browser” set of options
  2. Toggle “Show advanced settings”
  3. Scroll down in the right panel until you find the option “Show full URL in combined search and address bar”

The above image shows the options you need to select.

Once this is toggled all pages will show the full URL at all times.
