Installing .NET Framework 2 On Windows 10
This post describes how you can install .NET Framework 2 on Windows 10.
Issues relating to the missing framework
If you haven’t installed the .NET Framework 2 on Windows some installers and programs will fail with errors such as the below.
I had this issue while trying to install Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool.
Installing .NET Framework 2
Installing the .NET Framework 2 on Windows 10 actually is very simple and can be achieved with the Windows Features pane. This can be opened by typing “Windows features” in your search pane.
By selecting “.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)” and selecting ok it will download and install the appropriate framework.
Once it has downloaded I was able to install the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool and run it properly. This should not require any restarts. If you do not have internet on your computer you will need to install this feature from a Windows 10 install DVD.
