Fixing “Couldn’t switch to requested monitor resolution”

So far this has been tested to fix Slime Rancher, Hearthstone, and Elderscrolls Legends.

To fix this error you need to find the executable that is failing. In my case it was failing to launch SlimeRancher.exe from Steam. This is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Slime Rancher.

Once you have navigated to the folder where the executable is you will need to right-click on the executable and then press properties. Once you have done this you will get the properties window pop up. The compatibility tab needs to be selected. Once in this panel the fix is to check the “Disable full-screen optimisations”. Now just press Ok and it will be applied.

Once this has been done running the application should work as normal. I have tested this for slime rancher. If it works for you please comment below and I can add this to the main post to help others. Not to mention if you have any questions ask below.
